NROTC Scholarship Program
The NROTC Scholarship Program offers students the opportunity to earn their degree and receive valuable leadership and management skills while enjoying the benefits of an exciting career. The basic requirements and benefits of this outstanding program are listed below.
1. SELECTED APPLICATIONS RECEIVE:

Full tuition and other financial benefits. NROTC Units are located at over 160 of the nation's leading colleges and universities.

$250 - $400 a month tax-free spending money. $750 stipend per year for books.

2. BASIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
-
Be a U.S. Citizen
-
Be at least 17 years of age by September 1st of the freshman year of college and less than 23 years of age by 31 December of the year you start college.

Complete high school/equivalent certificate.

Take the ACT or SAT test prior to the deadline and receive at least the minimum scores listed below:
-
ACT Math = 21, English = 22, Combined Score = 44
-
SAT Math = 540, Critical Reading = 550, Combined Score = 1100

3. MAY APPLY FOR ONE OF THESE OPTIONS:

NAVY (SWO, Pilot, NFO, Submarine Officer, EOD Officer, Special Warfare Officer.)

NURSE CORPS (must major in a nursing degree program leading to a BSN)

4. DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
-
Major in any field
-
Take the normal course load required for the degree

Enroll in two Naval Science courses per year
-
Complete the following courses: *Calculus, *Physics, *National Security Policy/U.S. Military Affairs, English Grammar and Composition, Navy ROTC Naval Science classes
*NOT REQUIRED FOR NURSE ROTC

5. MILITARY SERVICE REQUIREMENTS:

NO OBLIGATION FOR THE FIRST YEAR OF COLLEGE

Upon completion of the degree, receive a commission as an Ensign in the Navy
-
Five-year active duty obligation (Except Nurse NROTC option of four years)
