My Future

It is imperative for my cadets to understand the significance of initiating their journey towards a successful future right now. In life, there is no guarantee of a tomorrow unless we act today. The choices they make regarding their college, career, and overall life path are pivotal, and procrastination is a luxury they cannot afford. By taking the first steps now, they can pave the way for a brighter and more fulfilling tomorrow. The future is a canvas waiting to be painted, and the time to pick the colors and strokes is now. Encouraging them to make these crucial decisions today will empower them to shape a future that aligns with their aspirations, dreams, and ambitions.

ROTC SCHOLARSHIPS

The Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) prepares college students for future service opportunities within the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, or Space Force. Students may join as they enter college as freshmen or later as undergraduates with at least three years of schooling remaining. The reasons for joining can vary but may include professional skills development, an ROTC scholarship, Tuition Assistance (TA), and a desire to serve. When students complete a school’s ROTC program, they start their military career as officers.

MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND

The U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command is the premier provider of ocean transportation to the Department of Defense. The Command operates approximately 125 civilian-crewed ships that replenish U.S. Navy ships, conduct specialized missions, strategically preposition combat cargo at sea around the world and move military cargo and supplies used by deployed U.S. forces and coalition partners.

While we do play a critical role in support of our nation's defense, our employees are not active duty members of the military. MSC civil service mariners (CIVMARs), the largest segment of our global workforce, are federal civil service employees.
